Our mobile PSA Blood Testing Clinic travels to events across Surrey and beyond, raising awareness of prostate cancer and offering men quick, often free PSA blood tests.

But behind every successful appearance is a team of volunteers who make the whole operation feel welcoming, calm, and human.

At a public event, the Man Van becomes a hub of conversation. Men might arrive curious, sometimes anxious, often encouraged by a partner or friend. You also see the power of awareness in real time. Many men who visit the Man Van have never had a PSA test before. Some don’t know that prostate cancer is the most common cancer in UK men, or that early stages often have no symptoms at all. When you explain that a quick blood test can help detect early warning signs, you can see the relief and gratitude on their faces.

Volunteering also gives you a deeper appreciation for the Prostate Project itself, we are a Guildford‑based charity that has spent nearly three decades funding awareness campaigns, research, treatment, and equipment for the Stokes Centre for Urology at Royal Surrey County Hospital.
