We are delighted to announce that our trustee, Professor Stephen Langley was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Surrey in a graduation ceremony at Guildford Cathedral last week.

The award was for “Pioneering contributions to prostate cancer detection and treatment, and leadership in advancing research and care across Surrey and beyond.”

The citation was delivered by Prof Juliet Wright, Dean of the Medical School (pictured with Stephen above).  The Pro Chancellor, Michael Queen, presented Stephen with the Degree of Doctor of the University, honoris causa. And Stephen in turn gave a speech using lessons learned in his career to help inspire those 300+ science students who were graduating that day.

As Stephen told us, “it was a day to remember” and we are thrilled that his pioneering work, leadership and dedication towards improving prostate cancer detection and treatment has been recognised.
