We were grateful, and delighted to be given the opportunity by the Cranleigh Lions to pitch our gazebo at the recent Classic Car event in beautiful Cranleigh.
Days like these really do offer us the most marvellous way of meeting people, telling them all about our work, and the ways in which we help to save and prolong the lives of so many men.
Of course it helps considerably if you have a Patron like Kenney Jones on board to really draw the crowds in.
Kenney, former drummer with the Faces and The Who, is a long-time friend and stalwart supporter of the Prostate Project, and also a bit of a ‘petrol-head’, his presence on our stand attracted lots of people keen to chat with a genuine superstar of the music world.
Thanks also to Mike Collins, Graham Goudie and Martin Davies for their sterling efforts in helping to make it a memorable occasion all round!
And, as a 1970’s comedian, whose name escapes me used to say ‘But wait…there’s more’
On the day, we had a visit to the gazebo from the Ladies Captain at Cranleigh Golf Club, the upshot of which is the wonderful news that the Prostate Project has been chosen as their charity of the year for 2024.
Not only that, the men’s team nominated us as their charity of the year as well. Massive thanks to Ladies Captain Evelyn West, and Men’s Captain John Wade, as well as everyone else at Cranleigh Golf Club, we look forward to working with you!
