When Matt Fuery contacted us about cycling 500 miles to raise £1,000 in the month of August for the Prostate Project, we were in awe of the epic challenge he had set himself.  But with true grit and resolve, Matt managed to not only complete the 500 miles but also smash his fundraising target.

Here is Matt’s story:

“I am writing to share the final update on my August cycling challenge!

I went to bed last night thinking I had fallen just short of my £1,000 fundraising target, but waking up this morning, we have officially done it. The total has now climbed to an incredible £1,120 raised.

To recap the month-long journey: 506.89 miles covered on the bike, 43 hours and 23 minutes spent in the saddle, 11,404ft of elevation climbed which is the equivalent of scaling Ben Nevis two and a half times (which I definitely hadn’t planned for!)

It has been a massive graft through early mornings, pouring rain, and tired legs, but seeing everyone rally at the very end to push past that £1,000 mark is amazing.

Thank you so much for all the vital work you do. I’m now ready to go give the legs a very long-overdue rest!”

We cant thank Matt enough for helping us to give men a better chance of beating prostate cancer.
