Vic Simmons was so much more than a fundraising champion for the Prostate Project, he was a source of inspiration, humour and wise counsel for all that knew him, and in marking his sad passing, we pay tribute to his qualities and offer our deepest sympathy to his family, and loved ones.
Vic served the Prostate Project from our earliest days, raising in excess of £70,000 via his many links with Surrey Freemasons, visiting lodges across the area and waving the flag on our behalf. A member of the Chartered Institute of Building, having owned his own construction company for many years, Vic was able to offer invaluable, practical advice when the Stokes Centre for Urology was being built, advice that he gave selflessly, and generously.
Made a Trustee of the Prostate Project in 2018, in recognition of his remarkable efforts, Vic remained a familiar, and welcome face at The Royal Surrey Hospital, distributing Prostate Project leaflets, and lending a listening ear to those in need.
Vic leaves a wife, three children, and countless friends, he will be missed by each and every one of us.
