It’s on from 11am until 3pm and will be packed with activities for everyone, whether you’re keen to see our Mobile PSA Testing Clinic (ManVan), surgical robots in our theatres, take a tour of our cutting edge histopathology lab or indulge in some free face painting, games and competitions – with lots of prizes!

The feedback last time was brilliant, here’s just a sample;

The atmosphere was amazing!

Fantastic day – great job to all involved!

Thoroughly enjoyable! A wonderful open day at the Royal Surrey County Hospital!

So, this year, thanks to the generous support of Royal Surrey Charity, which is celebrating 30 years of supporting Royal Surrey hospitals, plans are afoot to make it bigger and better! If you’re interested in a healthcare related career, we’ll have sessions running throughout the event for you to hear directly from our specialists on how to take the first steps into the profession. There’ll be loads of chances to see the skills of our brilliant teams in action; our radiologists will demonstrate how to take an X-ray, our audiologists give a glimpse into their kit to support hearing, our community teams will be here to showcase the services they offer from birth to older age and our physios, dieticians and speech therapists will be available to talk through the treatments they provide.

On top of all that – we’ll have free blood pressure tests, our specialist resuscitation team running classes on how to give lifesaving CPR as well as first aid training and tips on how to have the best night sleep. Our radiotherapy team will be running tours of our new Cancer Centre and we’ll be hosting a whole range of our partner charities and organisations who’ll be sharing their expertise highlighting what they can offer our community.

Amongst all the excitement you’ll be able to see some of the amazing work currently underway using artificial intelligence in our diagnoses and how the building work is going on our new Cancer and Surgical innovation centre.We’ll also be welcoming our partner emergency services giving you, your friends and family the chance to see a fire engine, ambulance and police car up close. They’ll be live music, food and loads more activities to be announced just before the day.

AND parking will be free, so you can park for as long as you like and come in to enjoy the fun. The day is not ticketed but if you’d like to get unique access to a tour of our theatres or our histopathology labs please go ahead now and book via the Community Open Day page which also gives you so much more information on the day itself.

Remember 28 June, it’s a red letter day in our calendar and we’d love to see you here to share in what promises to be a great event for everyone.
