We were delighted to host a very special event at The County Club in Guildford. The evening was a sell out and there’s no wonder, given that the speaker was none other than broadcasting legend, and our Patron, Michael Buerk.
Michael is a broadcasting legend, having been at the top of his profession for over 50 years. His reporting on the Ethiopian famine led to the Band Aid charity record in 1984 and the subsequent Live Aid concert in 1985. On TV since 1973, Michael Buerk has more international awards than any other journalist.
We are so grateful to Michael for giving of his time so generously on our behalf. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Michael’s after dinner talk on the things that make him grumpy! And we raised nearly £1,500 which is just wonderful.
